A Message
By Muhammad Tauseef Tariq
“When the sky fills up with dark, grey clouds, chances are it will start pouring at any time.”
Similarly, with so many signs of judgement day having appeared all around us, developing further and the worsening situation and predicament of the Muslims not to mention the countless ahadith we are witnessing with our very eyes coming true, something bad is bound to happen soon.
The proximity of the day of judgement is undeniable. The Messenger of God (sallallahu alaihi wa aalihi wa sallam) has said: “the last portion of my Ummah will have much punishment.” Since this, by implication is referring to the last group of Muslims before the End of Time and the fact that the Muslims are undergoing many catastrophes today from wars to natural disasters it can justifiably be inferred that this hadith is referring to us today. And it has come true, which means that the End of Time is almost here.
Despite the sensations being perceived by many people (Muslim and non-Muslim) of its nearness and the proliferation of disasters, wars, killing and general chaos in the world, simply a cursory glance at even 1 or 2 crucial narrations (ahadith) should be enough to convince the rational observer of not only its nearness but of its reality. I say this because many Muslims, although professing belief in it, do not seem to reflect this in their personality and social conduct.
Irrationality pervades many people today from the smallest of affairs to the matter of the resurrection itself. God has said that He: “… will gather you together against the day of judgment, about which there is no doubt” (4:87), but if you refuse to have confidence in this statement in your actions then one really cannot say anything further to you in this matter.
To those of you, however, who are observant of the signs of the resurrection and believe in its imminence then there are 2 primary issues you should be preoccupied with:
Survival and Salvation
Surviving the well-known tribulations of the Antichrist, even if it means fleeing to the Peak District, the Rockies, the deserts and the outback, and preparing yourself for the day of accounts.
As we look at the state of affairs today around the globe things are moving fast in dangerous directions and many of us are absolutely not taking notice of this reality. There is a war on Islam right now and we are merrily topping up our 5-digit (or more) bank balances, driving the Benz, shopping at the kuffaar’s temples of consumerism, enjoying the central heating, eating our fresh, home-cooked curries and cuisines, laying back on the sumptuous leather couch from D.F.S, dozing off on our beds from Furniture Land, drinking out of our elegant John Lewis cutlery, being indoctrinated by the Sony Plasma Television. HAVE WE ANY IDEA OF WHAT IS REALLY GOING ON IN THE SEEN AND UNSEEN WORLDS RIGHT NOW AT THIS VERY MOMENT AND WHAT IS ABOUT TO HAPPEN TO US!!! “Dajjal is nearly here”; how many times does this have to be said before it sinks in?
As our children have a right over us to feed them and raise them properly, Allah as our Creator, Rabb and God has a right over us to worship Him and perform acts of devotion for His sake; neglect this reality to your detriment. Whether a Muslim prays or not does not affect in any way the fact that the very first question about to be asked me and you is: did you perform salah? Allah, Subhanu wa Ta’ala, is very, very forgiving and the One who regularly accepts repentance. If one does not pray then one must undertake an honest and sincere effort to do so. Other than this, one must do as many good deeds as possible to give him the best position on resurrection day. If one is lacking in faith then go to the mosques, the Islamic talks and gatherings, attend the brief Deen intensive courses, attend dhikr circles to refresh and revivify your Iman; you have to go out to obtain faith because it’s not going to come to you while you are sitting on your sofas having sponge cakes in front of Eastenders and Pop Idol. Allah will admit the Muslims into Jannah; this is a fact. BUT we have to give Him an excuse to do so because saying that we are Muslim is NOT ENOUGH. If one is a sinner, just open the heart to your Sustainer and Cherisher and confess it all. After all, each one of us has our own bond with Him whether we realise it or not. If one does realise this then he is living a life of bliss.
Judgement day is around the corner, but the afterlife starts on our deathbed and realistically speaking our reward or punishment starts as soon as our lungs breathe their last. So whether our deaths come before the resurrection or not, our salvation is to be determined very soon. Be sensible; don’t leave off doing good deeds and travelling to the gatherings of Allah till your death until it is too late. Has a doctor ever left off learning his trade until the moment of a surgical procedure? Such procrastination would be stupid, dangerous AND NEVER WITHOUT CONSEQUENCE.
In Shariah, the signs of the rising are divided into 2 main categories: minor and major, with the minor preceding the major ones (the major being Al-Mahdi (alaihi salaam), Dajjal, sun rising from west, etc). As soon as the first major sign appears, the rest will follow in rapid succession culminating in the event of the resurrection.
In the books and on the Internet there are lists upon lists of minor signs of qiyamah (we’ve all had the emails!!!). I ask you: can you honestly say to each sign as you read it that this sign and that sign haven’t come about. I, for one, cannot.
The minor signs are now here and we are today in April 2005 C.E. waiting for the major signs to appear.
You have been warned.
